Lifestyle or Growth, or Both ?

We’re all familiar with the saying “you can have it all, just not all at once”. But when we pull the curtain back, why is this? Balance is at the heart of everything we do, and we believe that with balance you shouldn’t have to choose between a sustainable and enjoyable lifestyle, and also growing your business.

Lifestyle is at the heart of who we are, and a good one makes us good at what we do. At the end of the day, we are all humans who need to eat and sleep. By working on your wellness, you will feel more energised and passionate about what you need to do day to day. Importantly, what you eat can fuel your body in fighting off infections and illnesses that could otherwise stop your hard work. Implementing mindful practices, of meditation or yoga, are age old ways to realign and refocus yourself. Creating a consistent practice will allow you to identify how your day to day works towards your long-term goals and aligns with your values.

If your lifestyle effectively sets you up holistically to be the best version of you, then you are the most equipped to grow your business. We encourage all our members to embark on our Mindful Leader experience to fully understand, through practice itself, just how interconnected these two processes are. The Collective believes that growing your business is not only harder but often unsuccessful when you, as a leader, burn yourself to the ground. By not taking care of your body, or your mind, you will lose focus, agree to partnerships that don’t align with your values, or be unable to provide innovative solutions to pressing problems. A burnt-out leader will likely also lead to burnt out, unmotivated staff. People are at the heart of what every business does, and it is impossible to seek out the resources and advice to grow, if the passion goes.

Without a holistic lifestyle, growth is simply not possible. The trade-off between one and the other does not exist. Indeed, believing that you can only have one at a time has been the source of serious burnout, especially among women, worldwide. As always, balance is key – but without balance, there is no growth.
